Is WordPress really free?
Yes. The WordPress software is free and open source. What you do pay for is hosting, a domain name, and my time to design and build your site. Some premium plugins have a yearly fee too, but I'll always tell you up front if your site needs one.
Will I be able to update my site myself?
Absolutely. That's one of the biggest reasons I use WordPress. I'll show you how to change text, swap photos, and add pages. If you ever get stuck or just don't have time, I'm happy to help.
Is WordPress secure?
It is when it's taken care of. Most problems come from sites that never get updated. Keep WordPress, your theme, and your plugins current, use strong passwords, and keep backups. If I host your site, I handle that for you.
Can you move my current website to WordPress?
Yes. I've moved plenty of older sites over to WordPress. I'll keep the content that's working, refresh the design, and make sure it looks right on phones.
Is WordPress only for blogs?
Not anymore. It started as a blogging tool, but today it runs business sites, school and sports team sites, online stores, and big news sites. If you can picture it, WordPress can probably handle it.
What if I want a different designer later?
You're free to. Your site is yours, and because so many designers know WordPress, you'll never be stuck. I'd like to think you'll want to stick around, though.
